happy halloween peeps. and tweeps. and facebook creeps. and the odd reader from google who was expecting a different genre of 'soccer mom' site. yes, a special soccer mom boo to you too.

tomorrow night will be all for marcus. our pint sized captain 'merica will take his shield and his super hero grunts to the streets in a chilly post-frankenstorm sweep for sweets. and we'll indulge his pint-sized appetite in non-organic goodness of the mini-chocolate-bar variety. the rules: chips and chocolate bars: fine. i fold. the crap candy? forget it. not this year 'merica. and i digress. tomorrow will be a super fly sugar high and i will happily wave goodbye as he heads off to his dad's for the night as he peaks off said sugar high and dips into the post-sugar-high-meltdowns. [insert evil halloween laugh here].

and while the kid and his shield can have halloween night in all it's glory, this mama also celebrated said holiday in her own way, on a rare weekend-eve out, at the annual EPIC Halloween Party [edition 6]. this party is an annual affair that guests literally look forward to year round. the cause? Sick Kids Foundation. the raffle prizes? not to get all christmakkah on you, but how do 12 months of FLARE magazine, designer mens wear, personal training sessions, hot cd's, multiple sets of platinum club seats to see the raptors, $100 Petro Gas Card, $100 LCBO GC, designer sunglasses, amazing top of the line wines, UBER taxi GC and a partridge in a pear tree sound? i've been to some fancy-fascinator-wearing charity parties, and i've never seen a prize line up like this. plus? it's all going to the good cause. such a win. you know what else is such a win?

the fact that i came home with unreal tix to see the raptors take on the mavs.

you know what else was such a win?
our costumes. [modest i know].

@c_snapper and i were gotye + kimbra in the somebody that i used to know aka one hit wonder of the year vid. this costume was hand painted by yours truly which was a great idea until i was one side of one garment in and realized this was in.tense. but so much fun and a great way to pass a few  [or a lot] of hours last week.

and if not for being on the party commitee, we would haves totes been in contention for a costume prize :) at least that's what we both agreed.

other EPIC highlights? skrillex made a costume-guest-appearance in the dj booth and spun a sweet set. costumes ranged from a binder-full-of-women [best costume], pacman and miss pacman, a giant condom, a huge banana [they didn't come together fyi but i hope someone got that photo opp], the price is right, and your standard sexy non-specific get ups. i got to spend time with one of my absolute favourite people: @linny_bop and catch up with great company.

so much fun. and after a few back-to-back slammed months of toddler-work-toddler-work-yoga-work-sleep-rinse-repeat? i certainly needed to balance myself out and get out in a good social enviro for the night. so did my loubs.

so next year? if you're in the gta [or in the burbs like us], and halloween night is on reserve for trick of treating with a pint-sized-super hero. take a night off and do some good. because the EPIC halloween party? it's only going onwards and upwards and doing so much good for Sick Kids Foundation [and other choice charities] every year.

so trick or treat huh?
