summer lovin'. had me a blast. summer lovin'. happened so fast.
seriously though. i refuse to agree that summer is over, considering it was thirty six degrees in the saugs today.
our finale to 'summer' aka the past few weeks have been filled with love + laughter + a real.live.john.deere. + summer vacation for marcus + summer vacation for me + back to school + a dining table.
ya heard me?
a dining table. a real one. it is small. it is perfect in all of it's stainless steel legged and perfectly dark stained top goodness. it is still in it's perfectly flat ikea box - but, as god and my ex-husband who is lending me his power drill tomorrow morning are my witnesses, i will make it into an 85x85 masterpiece. we will say graces. and we will shove our faces. and hey, it only took me 9 months to commit. that's funny right?
so back to our whole end-of-so-called-summer-hit-list. we have absolutely lived it up these past few weeks. marcus spent a solid six days but who was counting with grandpa and gran di. they surprised him with an actual. real. live. john. deere. which he used to load firewood, drive it over to the neighbours fire pit, and unload for the nightly bon fire. he also went to a farm. another farm. the beach. aunt betty's. tanner + abbey's. mars. the moon. just.slightly.spoiled. as any grandson should be.
and me? who me? i may have jetted out west for a whirlwind + wonderful couple of days with a wonderful someone. between front row at gotye [who, as it turns out, have way more than one great song], saturday morning at the farmer's market, an amazing fam jam on a real.live.organic.farm [where people get out of cars and eat wild organic blueberries right off the ground. seriously.] another fam jam, a late night in the warehouse, and my first eighteen holes of golf ... uh ... need i say more? i came home so energized + feeling so blessed + also missed marcus just enough to burst into tears the second he got home.
so. then we had a long weekend. with bike rides. a trip with princess meliss to evergreen brickworks. another bike ride. lego. splash pad. park. reading. another bike ride. a fort. and then we had a first day of school.
which. i will blog about. tomorrow.
but not because i'm difficult. because this week has been overwhelming and has pushed me emotionally as a parent + a woman.
and, i seriously need one more day to recover from spending forty dollars on a single pair of pants for a three year old. because. that. happened. twice.
happy september. hold on to the high temperatures. and as cute as fall fashion is, enjoy every last bit of what this season has to offer ;)
