happy birthday to us!

i woke up this morning and had received a wicked e-card to wish my blog a happy birthday. these were my thoughts:
1. that's awesome. i had no idea it was my blog's birthday [bad blog owner alert].
2. i have pretty amazing people in my life. who sends an e-card for a blog's birthday? unreal right?
3. a year huh?

then i went and read the first ever blog entry i wrote. my timid and excited little intro. where i mentioned my fiance and my eighteen month old baby and our black diamond vertical timeline. man a lot has changed. for one, that eighteen month old baby has grown into a wonderful + healthy + intelligent pint-sized man. and that fiance has grown into an ex-husband. and i have grown from a timid young mom to a really confident + open + loving + growing + learning + hot yoga-ing + RUNNING but STILL YOUNG [caps are necessary] single mom. life has never felt more wide open to my son and i. who, according to his new bob marley tee- also loves big:

i try not to read my old blog posts too much. why get stuck in the past? i love to learn from each experience in my life and pay it/move it foward. the only way to reach the goals ahead is with a positive mind, open heart and forward momentum.

so happy birthday to my blog. i have a feeling that this next year will be our best year yet.
