we.do.zoo.

today: father's day. sunny. warm. but not too hot to enjoy.
cue the zoo.
cue the rents.
cue some friends.

we slept in [oops] and hit the road, banana and coffee in hands [for marcus and ourselves, respectfully]. off we went to meet my parents. they love outings with marcus. they also love me. they even like james. they like the bunch of us enough to drive 4 hours to meet us at the zoo:

toronto metro zoo is amazing for toddlers. the animals left marcus awe-struck. the splash pad left him soaked and smiling. everything in between just left him the happiest 22 month old man in the metropolis.

clearly i have photos a plenty:

the boys: marcus, sully, logan.
this guy was enormous. and he took a shower right infront of us in his big fountain [has he no shame?]

we got to pet both of these badboys: sting rays, and sharks. oh my.
stunning lioness having a nice nap. looks like the lion king right?

anyways. the day was [at least in our opinion] pretty darn awesome. i have learned so much about parenting and the person i want to grow to be from my father, and was so lucky to have him next to me [not literally. we live 4 hours apart] every step of the way up till now. this morning i looked at our photos coming down the aisle and couldn't believe that was only 6 ish weeks ago. we call him the mega don. and you don't earn that name for nothing.

i'm also obviously so lucky to share my rock star son with an amazing father and partner: james. they are equally mischevious, equally awesome, and share equal parts of my heart. marcus is one lucky kid to have such a sweet daddy, and wicked g-parents too!

back to the zooski - we hope to make it an annual fathers day tradition. so long as the price of gas doesn't go up any more ;)

hope you had a great weekend. enjoyed the sun. and had your own fun.

-karen
