so, is she like, really a soccer mom?

it may have been a bit ambitious or presumptuous to assume at 19 months, i've figured out what sport my son has a passion for. after all, my fam is all about hockey, his uncle is all about fishing and baseball, i was a dancer for most of my life ... & of course i hope our nearest and dearest will encourage him and share their passions with him.

but for real? this kid already loves soccer. [sorry grandpa, we're sure hockey will be his fave off-season sport - well, that and indoor soccer]

is it genetics? james was born into a total soccer fam [in Manchester no less. Go United!]
from the day i met james, i knew that i would have to get on board with this tradition or lifestyle of sorts. and i have. i even treated james to a man u game, [& rough-housed my way to meeting Nani] just to impress him.

our house is covered in all things man u. including a heinous red shag carpet HUNG ON THE WALL in our walk in with the crest on it. it is a great contrast in there: my designer handbags on one side, and this 70's shag carpet on the other.

marcus wore his first custom kit at 7 days old:

so yes, the influence is obvious. but we continue to introduce marcus to new sports and activities, and the kid loves soccer. swimming, kindergym, hockey/skating, music ...but none of them match his love for soccer.
he already has indoor nets, and runs to them shouting 'goal' with his arms over his head. he would rather kick a ball around than eat organic animal crackers [say what!?] we practice passing back and forth. he can follow the ball for a toddler-style breakaway:

he is 19 months old people.
so he might grow out of it. i get that. he may find a new passion all his own. we would only indulge him in that, and support it. he might decide at 20 months of age to hang up his custom official 'Hibs' kit courtesy of Aunty Boo and Uncle Paul.

but for today? i am certainly a soccer mom. and i freaking love it.
