it.was.awesome.
top ten things you should know about our week in jamaica:
10. our resort had a private island you could walk to by wading through the carribean sea. it was like a little piece of paradise. every morning, we packed our beach bag and settled into what quickly became our own little nook of the island:
9. we snorkeled every day off the island. the water was incredible. you could walk a kilometer out and only be thigh-deep. little swordfish, crabs and tropical fish swam all around our ankles. the water was so warm we had to detour to the pool if we really needed to cool down.
8. we ate at the swim-up jerk hut daily. yes, a swim-up jerk hut. with steps to the ocean, this hut only serves plates of jerk chicken and red stripe beer. they don't even give you utensils. amazing.
7. we went on an adventure to ochos rios and scaled dunns' river falls, a 600 foot waterfall. it was awesome.
6. we ate 'juicy patties' aka jamaican patties. and not some americanized resort version - like real, local jamaican patties. they were life changing.
5. we spent hours each day holed up in our room because it was so hot outside. we weren't complaining - relaxing was on the menu.
4. we missed marcus like crayzay. but we also loved knowing he was having a wicked vacation himself. and we may or may not have skyped with him every day.
3. we watched gorgeous sunsets out on the pier. james had never watched the sun set before and montego bay set the bar high. it was stunning:
2. half of england was in jamaica. i swear to god every family or couple we met was english. james loved it. he talked soccer with anyone who would listen. seriously.
1. i am totally. going back to jamaica.
