oh you know. this:
1. so later this week i will totes be posting an update on marcus and his new wheels. but i think the top left photo says it all: we hit up our first bike park and he took it off some jumps, whizzed up and around the ramps, then when he had howled 'let's ride' more times than a jarvis street fave on a friday night, he jumped off and made the bike/skate park his own obstacle race. i swear. he thought it was a toddler tough mudder race. i laughed so hard just keeping up with him. did i mention this was all at nine am. this morning?
2. we found a sweet hot spot of a park that is one hundred percent bikeable distance aka we will be booking ample frequent flyer miles there. it has a dino, a huge dragon, a sick rock climbing play 'thing', and a ton of clean sand to play in. it also has a massive swirling slide that he went down five times, hurling himself off the end of it and giving me a heart attach each and every time.
3. he got his drum kit out. thanks again meliss. my fave part is when he taps the sticks together and yells 'are you ready? we go one. two. three. go.' then tells me he is chris martin.
4. we biked home past tim horton's and he got his fave 'old fashioned glaze' timbit treat. i snapped this honest pic of him just gazing into the empty bag, hoping another tiny treat would appear.
5. i made gluten free chicken nachos. as per my high five friday shout out.
6. we made the splash pad our you-know-what. again.
7. marcus was drawing up a storm this weekend. he even drew the bottom centre picture of a dinosaur one hundred percent by himself. i'm not short on pride here people. his composition impressed me as much as that dino's wide smile.
8. he also helped me varnish my new painting. he is so serious when i let him help on a real canvas and i didn't even paint over it this time ;) [varnish=clear=little room for error]
9. marcus went to his cousin owen's birthday party this afternoon after nap, which means i got to put on a cute little skirt and what he dubbed my 'avenger' shoes and go out on the town for a few hours. and by out on the town, i mean to erin mills. but it didn't matter. i even called my sister to squee that i had a few hours to myself and had a little summer skirt on! she laughed. i was dead serious in my excitement. listen. have you ever worn a short skirt to the park with a toddler? time and place people. time and place.
10. we had a sweet weekend :) we hope you did too! it was so nice out here, and our first legit weekend at home in four weeks. i'm super excited to kick start the new week tomorrow. and hope your weekend brought as many smiles as my little guy brought me!
