high five friday: arrogant bread.

1. i wrapped up february in sales [work] and have kicked off march. [ps. march? are you kidding me? it's march right now? time flies when you sell nutritional products.] work is super exciting to me, especially right now.
2. i started something super important for our new place! it has so much meaning wrapped up in it, and altho i might never.maybe.but.probably.not.ever.in.my.life share it with you, trust that it is part of my journey and already feels like i am pouring my big.freaking.wide.open.filled.to.the.brim.warm.and.fuzzy heart onto a blank canvas and loving every bit of it.
3. i spent wednesday night with erin - remember the time she shared her wicked rad high five friday last week? okay so have you ever tried to catch up with your long lost bestie after not seeing each other for a decade? well, don't plan on a short dinner. plan on 5+ hours. plan on basically.not.so.subtly. being asked to leave the vegan restaurant. plan on then finding a non-vegan bar. plan on ordering a glass of warm water with lemon, a shot of jd, and do-you-have-organic-decaf-cappucino? plan on laughing. plan on crying. plan on being super proud that said friend has grown through onehelluva decade and come out on the good side. the real good side. i told her how much i miss bread in my life. she sent me this:
erin elmore. 2012.

and i laughed my less-than-modestly-proportioned ass off and am so thankful we've connected after all this time.
4. i have been working on myself a lot in these past months and was reflecting on myself this week and those qualities i am focused on ... and i think i have actually grown a lot. i'm happy about it. i have so far to go. but i am really focused on my faith and working on expanding my contributions and just delighting in the way. it's good stuff. high five.
5. marcus has had some 'tired/toddler/push.the.buttons.and.not.just.the.ones.at.the.elevator' moments [cough hours] this week and i am staying positive, mixing it up and trying new tactics that are still aligned with our core values. and by mix it up, i mean i took him over to starbucks on his chopper to have a short frothy brown rice milk and settle that hooligan down. it worked. i will likely do this again. plus he is getting to know the baristas on a first name basis. not that you would ever know a barista on a last name basis. they'd have to be super official or something. "mr. starbuck".
6. i am appreciating naptime all.weekend.long and you want to freaking know something? i just might join the kid for a little siesta. i just might even let him snuggle into my nook and breathe him in for the whole two hours of glorious nap.
7. i only took one day of rest this week [from working on my fitness] and otherwise either ran or yoga'd everyday.
8. i finished all.of.the.ikea.furniture.assembly. do you think you're a great parent? patient? well-tempered? all of the above? try making an armoire, dresser, two organizer units & an enormous bed that even has a warning to use TWO stick ikea people instead of one during assembly - with a two and a half year old co-pilot. the positives? i didn't drop any bad words, marcus LOVES helping and LOVES tools, and i think we could now take on the world together. or at least another lack or expedit.
9:
just because. erin elmore again. 2012.
10. marcus is making progress with his numero deux in potty training! do you feel me on this? have you been through this? 100% potty trained with numero uno. numero deux? different story. any tips? throw them over. i don't like to push him so don't recco any voodo mindtraps but otherwise let me know what worked for you with the toddler numero deux.

i can't believe it's friday.

i hope you had a wicked week and stop today to reflect on what you did/didn't do/how you grew/how awesome you are/how you are better today than you were last friday.

yoga quota: "always align your shoulders right over your hips. don't put pressure to move forward, and don't get stuck in the past. the right alignment will allow you to grow naturally."
