remember how i said he would run this suburb in no time fast? turns out it's more like no time last. here's a shot of one of the only times he has actually sat on his trike:
once he realized i was pushing it, all he wants to do is push: "no mommy. i'm pushing." he jacks it up onto it's back wheels a la poppin a total wheelie and walks it for an hour at a time. only yesterday did he seem interested in sitting on it. i'm sure it's because a]he is THISCLOSE to being tall enough to push the pedals around but not quite yet and b]he likes to hold the reins in life. he walks ten feet in front of me with his confident little mini man swagger, hardly acknowledging my momma cry: "too far!" before snickering just loud enough for me to hear and then bounding forward in his top speed. here is a perfect snapshot of his signature 'i lead the way' side-eye:
so my task this week is simple. try to get him more on the bike. less behind the bike. try to get him pushing the pedals instead of pushing the bike. oh, and also on this week's to-do list: stop relishing in the wedding-is-over-so-i'm-eating-my-face-off moment and get back on the wagon, and back up to speed with marcus so he isn't always ten feet in front of me. if our office cafe sold less french fries and more salads i'd be more optimistic. but i digress. and before i go sweat my face off at hot yoga, cue one more cute shot of our kid:
couldn't you eat his little face off? yea, me too.
